Church partnership, school ministry, community outreach, sports camps, service projects.

Based out of North-East England, our ministry partner exists to reach the unbelieving and uncommitted, to grow and deepen them in their faith, and to send them out to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We do this by working through schools, sports, community outreach and projects, and servant evangelism. Our team has had relationships with schools for fifteen years and has watched this partnership blossom in great ways. Through the school ministry, religious education lessons are taught and school assemblies are held in hopes of engaging the young people in North-Eastern England. Sports ministry utilizes soccer or after-school recreation camps to reach young people and children. Regarding service projects, a few examples include trash pick-ups and general cleanups, window washing, bagging groceries, or any other needs in the community.

The main goal for short-term mission trips is partnering with churches and local, ongoing ministries to be involved with short-term efforts that are part of long-term vision to help sow gospel seeds in a particular community.

What will my team be doing?

One of the most specific ways in which short term teams will serve is through camp ministry. Youth from the area will come to the park or other venue where the camp is held, play games, and then be told the gospel by our mission partner's staff members as well as Servant Life team members. You will play a vital role in sharing Jesus with teenagers in NE England! You'll also be involved in servant evangelism as described above. At the end of your trip, you'll get to do some sightseeing and explore quaint little English towns such as York.

What does a general weekly schedule look like?

  • Friday. Depart from US.

  • Saturday. Travel day. Arrive and get settled in.

  • Sunday. Church services with partner. Potential ministry activities. Vision casting and orientation.

  • Monday - Training for school ministry; other ministry such as community service, sports camps, etc.

  • Tuesday - Thursday. School placement ministry and potential local church opportunities; after-school recreation ministry.

  • Friday. Could be a ministry day or could be a tourism day to visit cathedral, historic cities, market, etc. Some teams may do this earlier in the week, like Sunday.

  • Saturday. Travel day. Depart for home. Arrive home same day.

  • (Note: For an extra cost, some teams like to take the train to London on Friday and spend Friday evening and all day Saturday sightseeing in London before flying out on Sunday. We can help accommodate this if your group wants to add this on to your trip!)

What does my cost include?

  • In-country transportation. Your transportation is taken care of during the week of ministry, but there could be an additional train ticket cost if you choose to fly into an airport a bit further away. Most of our teams will need to fly into Teesside International Airport in Durham if you are working closer to Middlesbrough; some teams may need to fly into Manchester if you are serving closer to Doncaster.

  • Housing. Your team will stay in host homes with access to hot showers and bathrooms. If your team is larger (12+), it's possible that we may have to utilize hotels or hostels to accommodate, which can increase the cost of the trip. If your group is interested in a week, please let us know what week you're targeting and your expected group size, and we can let you know if we can do host homes or what options we would have for that week. Or if you prefer hotels / hostels to host homes regardless of group size, let us know and we are happy to make that happen.

  • Meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day! (Note: You need to pay for your own meals at the airport, while traveling, etc.)

  • Supplemental Traveler's Insurance. In the event of a medical emergency, you'll be covered with an international policy!

  • T-Shirt. Every participant gets an awesome mission trip t-shirt.

  • Pre-Trip Training Material. We provide training sessions, trip overview documents, assistance from our team of mission trip experts, and communication with in-country missionaries to make sure your group is fully prepared for your trip.

  • Pre, During, and Post-trip Devotionals. This 4-week printed missions journal will help every team member grow and encounter Christ.

Airfare is not included in the trip cost, but will be taken care of by Servant Life's travel agent who gets humanitarian rates and often free baggage. You may book on your own if you prefer to do so, but we ask to approve the itinerary first.
