Servant Life partners with a local ministry in the Kampala/Wakiso area of Uganda. Since 2009, our partner has worked to care for vulnerable children and families while creating opportunities for long-term transformation through education, discipleship, vocational training, community outreach, and practical assistance. Their ministries include educational sponsorship, children and youth programs, family support, vocational initiatives, and ongoing outreach to families in the surrounding community.

Servant Life teams serve alongside local staff and ministry partners, strengthening work that is already taking place throughout the year. Rather than creating short-term programs that end when a team leaves, groups come alongside local leaders to support ongoing relationships and ministries that continue long after the trip.

What will my team be doing?

Teams will participate in a variety of ministry opportunities based on the needs of our partner and the gifts of the team. Ministry may include children’s Bible activities, educational and literacy support, sports and recreation, youth ministry, community outreach and home visits, prayer and encouragement with families, and practical service projects such as painting, gardening, organizing classrooms, or preparing ministry spaces.

Teams may also have opportunities to serve through women’s and family ministry, vocational encouragement, teacher support, pastoral encouragement, or other skills-based ministry. Each trip is customized around the team’s abilities, the school calendar, and the highest-priority needs identified by local leadership.

Throughout the week, teams will serve alongside Ugandan leaders and volunteers, helping strengthen sustainable ministry and relationships in the Kampala/Wakiso community.
