Trip Information

Annually, the business of human trafficking globally generates an estimated $150 billion in profits. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a GDP per capita of $1155.14. As such, the most common push factors for human trafficking are poverty and unemployment. Today, the Nepal-India border is considered to be one of the busiest human trafficking gateways in the world, with approximately 30,000 women and girls trafficked each year.
 

Servant Life partners with local organizations in Nepal that are committed to protecting vulnerable children, strengthening families, and sharing the hope of the Gospel. Teams will come alongside local leaders to engage rural villages, visit schools, and provide education and resources to at-risk families and communities.
 

A key part of this ministry is investing in the next generation through relationships with students. Teams have opportunities to serve alongside local believers as they engage students through sports, school activities, youth gatherings, and Gospel conversations. Using a relational model similar to the First Priority Global strategy, teams can help encourage students to know Jesus, share their faith with friends, and become equipped to make a difference in their own schools and communities. Rather than simply bringing ministry to Nepal, teams are invited to partner with local leaders who are already investing in students and empowering them to reach their own communities.
 

Alongside our local partners, you will build relationships and empower children and families with the knowledge, resources, and Gospel-centered hope they need to thrive and protect themselves and their communities.

What will my team be doing? 

​

Get ready for an unforgettable week in Nepal where adventure meets purpose! You’ll experience the beauty and culture of Nepal while serving alongside local ministry leaders, churches, and students who are passionate about reaching their communities with the hope of Jesus.

A major focus of the trip is student ministry and investing in the next generation. You’ll spend time building genuine relationships with Nepali students through youth activities, community gatherings, conversations, and other locally led ministry opportunities. You’ll have the chance to laugh, play, learn, worship, and share your faith with students while encouraging the local leaders who are investing in them year-round.

You’ll also have opportunities to experience Nepali culture beyond the typical tourist experience, including time in local communities and rural areas. Along the way, you’ll learn about the people, traditions, and challenges that shape life in Nepal and see how local believers are serving their communities.

Throughout the week, you’ll see the power of local community partnership as you come alongside Nepali churches and ministry leaders serving vulnerable families and creating sustainable opportunities. Any business or service initiatives will be strictly ethical, prioritizing dignity, fair pay, and safe working conditions. This includes ensuring guides and Sherpas are fairly compensated and work in safe conditions, with no child labor or exploitation.

This isn’t just a trip where you visit Nepal. You’ll be invited into what God is already doing there. You’ll build friendships with students, serve alongside local believers, experience an incredible culture, grow in your faith, and discover what it looks like to invest in the next generation and share the Gospel across cultures.

What does a general weekly schedule look like?

​

• Thursday-Friday. Depart from the U.S. in the evening.

• Saturday. Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal, and travel to a selected lodging location for orientation.

• Sunday. Orientation / Church

• Monday - Friday. Ministry days

• Saturday-Sunday. Depart from Nepal in the early morning and arrive back in the U.S. on the same day or Sunday.

What does my cost include?​

​

• Housing. Your team will stay at a Bed & Breakfast while in Kathmandu or other school/church ministry areas. While trekking, you will utilize teahouses and family homes hosting trekkers in mountain villages.

• Meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day (Note: You need to pay for your meals at the airport while traveling or on tourist excursions, etc.)

• Supplemental Traveler's Medical Insurance. In the event of a medical emergency, you'll be covered with an international policy! *Interested in upgrading to a more comprehensive insurance plan that includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage? • T-Shirt. Every participant gets an awesome mission trip t-shirt.

• Pre-Trip Training Material. We provide training sessions, trip overview documents, assistance from our team of mission trip experts, and communication with in-country missionaries to make sure your group is fully prepared for your trip.

• Pre-, During, and Post-trip Devotionals. This 4-week printed missions journal will help every team member grow and encounter Christ.

• In-country transportation. From the moment you land at the airport until the moment you leave, we will take you everywhere during the week. You will not need to arrange your transportation, but teams should be prepared to do some walking as we navigate different villages and communities. 
   

Airfare is not included in the trip cost, but will be taken care of by Servant Life's travel agent who gets humanitarian rates and often free baggage. You may book on your own if you prefer to do so, but we ask to approve the itinerary first.
