The Eternal Impact of Merida, Mexico

Servant Life partners with Cornerstone Baptist Theological Seminary in Merida, Mexico. The seminary partners with over 40 local churches, providing support and resources as they minister to their communities. Short-term mission teams get to be a part of this work, helping in gospel advancement and serving a culture that is deeply intertwined with Catholicism.

From the rich history to the deep tradition and beauty, teams can experience elements of culture that expand their global perspective. Recently, Merida was named the second safest city in North America. Its people are inviting, the scenery is beautiful, and it is located along the Yucatan Peninsula, home to many free time options like beaches, cenotes, and Mayan ruins. The primary religion in Merida is Roman Catholicism which largely influences their culture and tradition. There is also a rich Mayan history.

The Baptist seminary is currently building a campground on its property to host short-term teams who are partnering with it in its ministry. Teams can serve the seminary by assisting them in labor projects to continue building their campground. They can also join the seminary in their partnerships with local churches to be a part of their various ministries. Local churches are involved in evangelism, home visits, food distribution, VBS, youth events, and other relational ministry efforts. Teams are needed to come alongside the seminary to help establish their campground so they can host camps for local children and youth that share the gospel with them.

Merida and Cornerstone Baptist Theological Seminary need teams strongly rooted in a faith in Jesus to help spread the gospel across their city, strongly influenced by a Mayan and Catholic culture.

If you feel that God is calling you to serve in Mexico, or even somewhere else, we would love to help make this a reality.
