Memphis: Spreading the Light of Christ Across the Neighborhoods

Servant Life partners with Street Reach Ministries in Memphis, Tennessee, whose mission is to impact children and families by meeting them where they are and loving them the way Jesus loves us.

Known as the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock ’n’ Roll, Memphis is rich with musical history. Beyond the lively music, Memphis is filled with neighborhoods of different backgrounds in which Street Reach has served for over 30 years. Through their long-standing relationship with the neighborhoods, Street Reach has become a trusted presence in the community, sharing the hope of Christ in both love and action.

Our partner in Memphis has a long-standing relationship with its community members. Street Reach has spent over 30 years stewarding their relationships with the individuals and families there, allowing for the light of Christ to spread across the neighborhoods in Memphis. They desire to know their community so they can meet their needs and love them intentionally with the love of Christ. 

Street Reach serves as a minister through its school and partnership with Brinkley Heights Baptist Church. The school provides year-round education and support to children who lack access to their resources. In the summer months, when school is not in session, Street Reach continues their ministry through Backyard Bible Clubs and door-to-door outreach.

As a beacon of hope within their community, Street Reach exists to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of children and families.

30 years ago, Street Reach began with a single mission team, and has now grown into a ministry that thrives from their volunteers. Each team is seen as an answered prayer in helping spread the light of Christ around the city. 

Teams serving with Street Reach in the spring and summer can join in a variety of ministry opportunities, including Backyard Bible Clubs, community outreach, food distribution, prayer walks, and more. It is our partner’s goal to touch the lives of children with the love of Jesus, providing hope and salvation in Jesus’ name.
