How You Can Serve the People of the Bahamas

Servant Life partners with Go Bahamas International Mission, which serves on Grand Bahama Island. On Grand Bahama, teams get to serve through Vacation Bible School, Backyard Bible Clubs, community outreach, and disaster relief.

The Bahamas are full of people whose lives need to be transformed by the gospel. While many are involved in church, they don't always follow Jesus with faith. Teams are needed in Grand Bahama to proclaim the truth of the gospel and serve as witnesses of Jesus to children.

What will my team be doing?

Short-term teams will serve alongside missionaries and local churches to host Vacation Bible School and other relational outreach activities to build relationships with the children in the community. The week begins with attending the local church service and preparing for VBS. Throughout the week, teams will have the opportunity to present the gospel through VBS activities. In the afternoons, time is spent in the same community building relationships with locals and inviting them to church. The children there love spending time with the team that is with them. On the last day, teams will have the opportunity to visit Port Lucaya for shopping, relaxing, and enjoying local cuisine.

Teams are encouraged to come ready to demonstrate their love for Christ and share how the gospel has changed them. The people of Grand Bahama are in need of personal relationships with Jesus, not just an understanding of how to maintain Christian tradition and structure.

Consider a mission trip to the Bahamas. You never know how God could use you to make an eternal impact.

However, God is calling you to share the gospel, our team would love to connect to hear how we can help.
