How the Gospel Can Influence Kosovo

Servant Life partners with a Christian ministry in Kosovo who strives to make the gospel known in a culturally Muslim country. Our partner recognizes the need for gospel advancement in Kosovo and throughout the rest of Europe as it is becoming more and more “post-Christian”. 

Kosovo is a small country that was largely impacted by its civil war in the 1990s. It is roughly the size of Delaware, with a population of around 1,900,000. Since the war, drastic political and economic changes have taken place. The country continues to rebuild its infrastructure and population. Today, half of its population is under 35 years of age. This leaves great opportunity for the Gospel to ignite a new Generation of believers in Jesus Christ. 92% of Kosovo is Albanian and Albanian speaking, leaving room for ministry to happen through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. 

While Kosovo’s political and economic state has changed over the years, the Muslim culture and religion has remained the same. Although small, the Christian community is alive and working to make the name of Jesus known to their Muslim neighbors. 

Our partner in Kosovo realizes the need for the gospel in not just the country of Kosovo, but the continent of Europe as well. They are globally-focused and desire to take the gospel to the nations. They have noticed the growth in diversity throughout Europe due to the influx in refugees over the years. The nations have come to Europe. What better way to make His name known than to go where the nations already are?

Short-term teams get to join our partner in this mission in Kosovo. By leveraging the unique gifts each team brings, our partner disciples and exhorts the teams they interact with. There are opportunities to join the local church in their ministry through engaging in their services and being an encouragement to the local body. Teams will also have opportunities to engage in kid’s and youth ministry, community outreach, ESL classes, working at youth centers, after-school programs, and street evangelism.
