Honduras: Ministering to Provide Hope

ree

Servant Life partners with VER International in Honduras whose heart is to break cycles of poverty for the next generation. Our partner desires to meet the needs of families in poverty through service and gospel sharing.

The country of Honduras is rich in culture and community. Family plays a central role in the daily lives of Hondurans, providing deep support and belonging for each member of the country. Honduras is known for its strong agriculture and natural beauty in which its economy relies on. At the same time, many families are impacted by the realities of poverty. Honduras is one of the most impoverished countries in Central America, with over 60% of the population living in poverty. With their strong sense of family, resilience is strong within their culture, and ministry can thrive among this people group.

Our partner recognizes the need for increased access to healthcare, education, and jobs. VER International strives to meet these needs of Hondurans in poverty through health and hygiene assistance, education, and entrepreneurship opportunities. They wholeheartedly believe that each person is created in God’s image and born with inherent work and desire to help grow hope and dignity in others.

VER International has helped to provide free community clinics, hygiene workshops, and have helped with home improvements to increase hygiene in the home. They have provided back to school kits for families, English classes, and tutoring services and have helped support families in agriculture and micro-business sponsorship. It is through these efforts that VER International uses to be a witness to children and families by telling the good news and hope of Jesus.
