Guatemala: Reaching Communities with the Gospel

ree

Servant Life’s partner, Clubhouse Guatemala, desires to serve their community through building up the younger generation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The country of Guatemala is known for its gorgeous lakes and volcanoes along with its rich Mayan heritage. It has about 18 million residents with roughly 57% living in poverty. The majority of the population is Evangelical or Roman Catholic with about 10% not religious. Our partner ministers to children in need through meeting them where they are and through sharing the gospel to them.

Clubhouse Guatemala exists to disciple Guatemalan youth and build up local families and churches. Clubhouse believes that “if we are going to change Guatemala for Christ, it must be done by changing and cultivating the hearts of future generations.” Our partner desires to bring the gospel to children and families by meeting them in their villages. Their long-term goal is to plant churches in each village they interact with.

In 2012, our partner began building their campground, Camp Calvary, to house missions teams, train local pastors, and minister to Guatemalan youth. In 2013, Clubhouse began building their medical ministry clinic and chapel. Trinity Chapel was made to be a space for worship and to host a feeding program for the local community.

Servant Life has been able to help Clubhouse Guatemala continue their ministry through the generosity of people like you who give financially to support our partners. A few years ago, Trinity Chapel faced serious damage from a windstorm. Because of your generosity, we were able to send funds to help rebuild the chapel. It was reconstructed to be three times larger than before, allowing for more children to experience the love of Jesus.

Not only are there opportunities to support global missions financially, but short-term teams can join our partner in Guatemala to add to their ministry. Typically, teams have the opportunity to visit schools to minister to children there, help with food and clothing distribution, visit families in their homes, and assist with light construction projects. It is our partner’s goal to help children learn about Jesus and connect them to a local church, and our partner loves to have teams join them in this effort!

We are so thankful for our partnership in Guatemala. If you are interested in serving in Guatemala or another location, we would love to hear from you. Contact us at info@servantlife.com
