Servant Life partners with a local organization engaging in meaningful work to prevent child trafficking, visiting rural villages, and providing education and resources to at-risk families and communities. Alongside our local partner, you will build relationships and empower children with the knowledge and resources to protect themselves and their communities.

The Nepali population is made of around 30 million people in a country that is slightly larger than New York. It exists as one of the most poor countries where 20% of the population lives below the poverty line. The culture is made up of 141 caste and ethnic groups. Only 1.8% of the population identify as Christian, whereas the majority identify as Hindu, Buddhist, or Muslim.

In Nepal, the Himalayan Mountains cover about 75% of the land, and is home to Mt. Everest, the highest point of elevation on the globe. Many of the Nepalese worship this mountain as it is regarded as a symbol of spirituality and philosophy. In Nepali, Mt. Everest is known as Sagarmatha which translates to “Goddess of the Sky”  and reflects the reverence in which the mountain is held. It is seen as a divine connection between the earth and the heavens and believed to have the ability to purify the mind and soul.

Learning more about their religion and culture can be a helpful tool when having conversations about the good news in Nepal.

Our partner in Nepal engages in part adventurous and part meaningful work to prevent human trafficking. This journey will take you on a cross-cultural experience, spending time with families as you build relationships and share the good news through one-on-one conversations while you spend time in a mountain village. Ministry can include visiting schools, leading sports camps, serving pastors, and assisting with micro-businesses.

If you are feeling called to join our partner in their adventurous work in Nepal, we would love to hear more from you. Contact us at info@servantlife.com
