Deep down in south Texas near the Mexico border lies the Rio Grande Valley. Many families in this region are impoverished and lack the basic necessities to live. Where such needs exist, there is a great opportunity for the local church to rise up and show the love of Christ in tangible ways! Servant Life partners with a local ministry that works through churches to meet both practical needs as well as share the gospel, with the hope of radically changing these children and families both now and for eternity. Join us in Mission, TX and the surrounding region to minister to the vast needs of these Mexican-American families.

What will my team be doing?
Short-term teams will work through local churches and other local agencies in a variety of different ways. Many ministry activities will be evangelical in nature, such as hosting VBS or block parties or engaging in prayer and evangelism. If your team desires to be more involved in humanitarian efforts, there are often plenty of opportunities to help with tangible needs such as home construction, bed-building and other light construction, painting, or distribution of basic needs such as food, water, clothes, backpacks, and other school supplies. Teams might also help with ESL classes in order help families progress in their English, or with basic medical screening and assessments in order to pave the way for future medical teams.
