What will my team be doing?

Alik Shipuk, pastor of Slavic Baptist church in Valencia, Spain, has a heart for Ukrainian teenagers that he regularly meets in Valencia. In partnership with long-time Servant Life partner, Radooga Ministries, you can help Alik, his church and many families share the Gospel with Ukrainian teenagers who were torn from their homes through a weeklong summer camp where they will attend English classes, play games, worship, and hear from God’s word!

Teams will assist with English learning classes, camp games, and build relationships with students and leaders from the community and Slavic Baptist Church. Through this camp, the church desires to establish a consistent student ministry within their church for students to attend weekly.

Why Ukrainian Refugees in Spain?
Since the start of the war in February 2022, millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes in search of safety. Among the most vulnerable are teenagers, whose formative years have been interrupted by the chaos of conflict. Being a teenager is challenging, but for those displaced by war, it is especially hard compounded by the absence of support, friends, and mentors. Many turn to destructive coping mechanisms such as alcohol, drugs, and excessive gaming. Valencia, Spain is now home to thousands of Ukrainian refugees and our long-time partners have an opportunity to serve them again!
