Trip Information

Servant Life partners in Houston to send American teams on short- term missions experiences to one of the most ethnically diverse regions of our country. We partner with a network of local churches that have joined together in a common mission to impact the city of Houston with the love of Christ. These partner churches see the need for new and healthy faith communities across the city among ethnic and urban neighborhoods, with a particular emphasis on international congregations. We partner with a network who is seeking to plant, support, strengthen, and establish churches that are self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating.

What will my team be doing? 

Your team will be partnered with one of several different churches in the Houston area, many of which are international (such as Korean churches, Vietnamese, Congalese, Hispanic, and various other nationalities).  Your ministry could include opportunities to help with Bible studies in apartment complexes, sports camps, street evangelism, and even opportunities to serve the homeless. You'll get to minister to a very culturally diverse area that includes people from all over the world including Central America, Nigeria, Eritrea, India, the Congo, Mexico, and Korea to name a few. We can also​ build in some time for your group to explore Houston during some free time.

What does a general weekly schedule look like?

• Day 1. Travel day. Arrive and get settled in. 

• Days 2 - 5. Ministry days: Partner with local church to host VBS, community service projects, Bible clubs, sports camps, or other outreach.

• Day 6. Travel day. Depart for home.

What does my cost include?​

• Housing. Your team will sleep in bunk bed style accommodations with access to hot showers and bathrooms.

• Meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day! (Note: You will need to purchase dinner on your night off on Wednesday.)

• T-Shirt. Every participant gets an awesome mission trip t-shirt.

• Pre-Trip Training Material. We provide training sessions, trip overview documents, assistance from our team of mission trip experts, and communication with in-country missionaries to make sure your group is fully prepared for your trip.

• Pre, During, and Post-trip Devotionals. This 4-week printed missions journal will help every team member grow and encounter Christ.

• * Transportation is NOT included in the trip cost. You will be responsible for traveling to Houston as well as having vehicles to get around during the week.
